César Soriano G.

César Soriano Giraldo is an Engineer by profession, with a Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Management and Doctoral studies in Environment and Sustainable Development. He is currently studying a PHD in Philosophy with specialization in Physics and Mathematics.

As a businessman he has been dedicated to Foreign Trade and in the Social Field in developing new alternatives in order to eradicate poverty and the worst manifestations of infant labor, for that he formed AIDECA 30 years ago, which started in the field of Crafts with the aim of highlighting the people’s cultural values, their idiosyncrasy, projecting them to a world of social development, where they assume their freedom to decide and do, get engaged with others through partnership and search for innovative ways of doing business, especially in foreign trade, by transferring export business ideas to isolated communities in Peru, promoting the use of collective brands that consolidate business models in low-income sectors of Peruvian society.

Becomes part of the AIDECA International movement

Led in Spain by Dr. Rafael Rivas de Benito, through the Spanish Cooperation, achieving the creation of the Iberoamerican Community of Crafts, led by Mrs. Karen Olsen de Figueres (Costa Rica).

Year 1985

Promotes and participates in the Peruvian Artisan Law, which was enacted on January 5, whose purpose was that artisans are heard and involved in the social, economic, and cultural context of Peru.

Year 1986 - II

Named Andean and Latin American Artisans Councilor by the Confederation of United Artisans of the Andean Sub Region - CAUSA.

Year 1989

Joins the Center for Socio-Economic and Technological Research (CINSEYT) of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where he promotes the formation of Regional Chambers of Small Business and Crafts, concentrating on the areas of greatest poverty in Peru, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junín, Cerro de Pasco, Huánuco and Abancay, known as the Andean Trapezoid.

Year 1990 - III

Gives a lecture at the V Ibero-American Seminar on Crafts Cooperation, promoted by the Spanish Cooperation, where he assumes part of AIDECA International.

Year 1992 - II

Participated in the II Technical Conference on Crafts, Tourism and Environment and II Iberoamerican Technical Conference on Marketing of Crafts, within the framework of the Earth Summit. Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

Year 1996

Gives a lecture at the V Ibero-American Seminar on Cooperation in Crafts in Tenerife, Spain, where he proposes the model of Associativity for the economic and social development of artisans.

Year 1997 - II

Promoted the participation of Peruvian Popular Artists in the Coral Gables Festival in Miami - Florida.

Year 1999 - I

Recognized as Honorary Advisor of AIDECA Argentina.

Year 1999 - II

Executes the projects of the Huachipa Brickyard and Mollehuaca Artisanal Mining Company, as a program to eradicate the worst forms of child labor, with the support of the International Labor Organization - ILO.

Year 2000 - II

Lectured at the Round Table on "Cultural Continuity and Global Insertion", convened by the North - South Center of the University of Miami.

Year 2001 - I

Becomes a partner of the Avina Foundation.

Year 2001 - II

Delivers a lecture at the APEC Forum in Bangkok - Thailand at the "Conference for Eliminating the Worst Form of Child Labor and Providing Youth with Educational Opportunities.

Year 2002 - II

Recognized by the Regional Government of Piura for his work in favor of the region's handicrafts.

Year 2004 - I

Recognized by the College of Journalists of Peru in "Merit to the Management of the Country" by the College of Journalists of Peru.

Year 2006

Assumes the Presidency of the Social Responsibility Network.

Year 2011 - I

Executed the Solano Project to promote the development of young people and women in artisanal work in the District of Chorrillos - Lima and Santo Domingo de los Olleros - Huarochiri, with the support of the AIDECA Spain Foundation and the Community of Madrid - Spain.

Year 2012

Publishes the book "Inclusive Business in Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Chile". National Diagnostic of the Artisan Brick Sector - CITE Marketing Mercadeando S.A. - Swiss Contact.

Year 2014 - II

Designs the Collective Brands Management Manual - CITE Mercadeando.

Year 2020

Designs the Plan for the Integration of State Entrepreneurship Services - Ministry of Production.

Year 1984

Began the expedition to design the first artisan map of Peru, visiting different artisan communities.

Year 1986 - I

Writes the book "Crafts Problems and Solutions".

Year 1987

Forms the Federation of Artisans of Ayacucho FEDAA, as a model that allows the economic and social development of the artisans of the area and its confrontation with terrorism.

Year 1990 - I

Promoted the formation of the National Confederation of Artisans of Peru - CONAP, in Wambutio - Cusco.

Year 1990 - II

Participates in the Commercial Management Course for Handicrafts.

Year 1991

Formed AIDECA Peru, with the Peruvian alumni of the Crafts Cooperation Courses who participated in Spain.

Year 1992 - I

Promoted the V Congress of Artisans of Peru, with the support of the Federation of Artisans of Arequipa - FEDAA.

Year 1993

Recognition by the National Confederation of Artisans of Peru, as "Protector of Peruvian Artisans".

Year 1997 - I

Summoned by the Spanish Cultural Foundation - Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Culture, to be a teacher of the Training Courses for Ibero-America.

Year 1998

Participated as a speaker at the First Ibero-American Meeting of Employers for the Eradication of Child Labor - Santa Cruz de la Sierra - Bolivia, where he proposed the Business Model for the Gradual Reduction for the Eradication of Child Labor.

Year 1999 - III

Through AIDECA Peru wins the competition on "Innovation and Development" organized by the World Bank.

Year 2000 - I

Gives a lecture to World Bank officials, presenting the Artisan Enterprise Net Work (AEN) Program. At the Preston Auditorium of the World Bank - Washington DC.

Year 2000 - III

Invited by the Secretary Labor of the U.S. Government to present the experience of the Huachipa Brickyard Project to eradicate child labor.

Year 2002 - I

Gives a lecture at the VII Ibero-American Seminar on Cooperation in Handicrafts held in Cadiz, Spain, where he presents the model of Market Segments for Handicrafts.

Year 2002 - III

Promotes the participation of Peru in the Andean Craft Encounter, in Colombia, organized by Artesanías de Colombia.

Year 2004 - II

Participates in the IX Iberoamerican Seminar of Cooperation in Crafts in Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where he is designated representative of the AIDECA Network for Latin America.

Year 2009

Designs the Diagnosis and Implementation Strategy of the Pottery and Ceramics Laboratory of the Center for Technological Innovation in Crafts and Tourism of Copán Ruinas - Tegucigalpa - Honduras. FIDE Honduras, World Bank.
